Everginium's optional Forsaken shortcut
A real Forsaken death adds one Refined Everginium Core to its normal loot. That core can become two blocks through the final pedestal recipe. The ore/crop route works without this fight; you may use either route or combine them.
Find and fight the Forsaken
The Forsaken belongs to Alex's Caves' Forlorn Hollows, where Underzealots perform a ritual on a Vesper. The cave book explains the ritual and progression. The checked mod description gives it 250 health and dangerous slams, grabs/bites and ranged and close-range sonic attacks. Six base attack damage does not describe the full danger of those special attacks.
At low health it can enter a shadow state and heal quickly outside direct light. Plan lighting, movement space and an escape route. Distance or an ordinary mob pen alone does not make the encounter safe.
Why Loot Collector does not give cores
| Event | Extra core |
|---|---|
| Player kills an actual Forsaken | One |
| Machine kills an actually spawned Forsaken | One |
| Mechanical Spawner with Loot Collector | None |
| Producing spawn fluid without a kill | None |
The Collector simulates ordinary loot without spawning and killing the mob. The extra core requires a real death. Use actual-mob mode and collect dropped items with a separate collection system.
Make Forsaken spawn fluid
Use a superheated Create Mixer with Basin:
| Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Random Spawn Fluid | 1,000 mB |
| Ghast Tear | 4 |
| Precision Mechanism | 1 |
| Reinforced Alloy | 1 |
| Output: Forsaken spawn fluid | 1,000 mB |
Superheating has its own running costs. Mechanism and alloy are consumed, not reusable catalysts. The recipe does not require Everginium or an existing core. The Mechanical Spawner uses 1,000 mB per actual spawn.
| Speed | Approximate spawn time |
|---|---|
| 100 RPM | 150 seconds |
| 128 RPM | 120 seconds |
| 256 RPM | 60 seconds |
Times assume 20 TPS and the pack's standard time factor. Interruptions and lag add time. Combat and final crafting are additional.
Expand gradually
Start with one fluid portion. Verify a successful spawn, then containment and a damage source that can handle attacks and shadow healing, then core collection. Connect continuous fluid supply only after the whole cycle works. Spawning faster than killing can accumulate live monsters.
Every core still needs two Precision Mechanisms, two Reinforced Alloys, two Elite Components, two Refined Obsidian Ingots and the Core's energy. Including spawn fluid, one shortcut batch therefore consumes three Precision Mechanisms and three Reinforced Alloys.
