BuildUp Mining Dimension: ore heights and resource locations
Dimension ID: tdutilities:mining. These configured TDUtilities resources apply
to newly generated chunks. Existing terrain may reflect an older version.
Stone and Deepslate base terrain are omitted, but their ore variants are included.
Geodes, chambers and fossils also supply resources. This is a data reference,
not a survey of the current world or an in-game generation test.
Reading the tables
- Y is height, visible in F3. Ranges include both endpoints.
- A Y range normally describes a feature's chosen origin. Its body can extend beyond it.
- Frequency means generation attempts: one per N chunks is a statistical average, not a guaranteed find every N chunks.
- Ordinary ore origins are uniformly distributed within each range, without a preferred height.
- Vein size is the generation parameter, not guaranteed harvestable blocks. Terrain, overlap and failed placements affect yield.
- Drops depend on tools, enchantments and processing. All resources share the Mining biome; you do not need separate Nether or End biomes.
Quick orientation
Diamonds extend up to Y 48, emeralds to 30, uranium to 50 and Ancient Debris from −48 to 16. Everginium uses −48 to 96. Nether materials and Glowstone chambers concentrate at −32 to 48; large industrial deposits and End Stone at 72 to 152. Clay, sand, gravel and terracotta are mainly at 160–248, mud up to 224, and ice/snow at 224–248. Fluorite starts at 100, tin at 90 and tungsten at 120.
Ores and Ancient Debris
The normal variant is listed. Where available, matching deepslate variants
replace the appropriate substrate, generally using deepslate_ in the same
namespace. Tungsten and Ancient Debris use the same block in both substrates.
The terrain transition is between Y 63 and 64.

Autunite (createnuclear:autunite) uses Y −48 to 48, one attempt per chunk,
size 12. Thorium is also deep; nitrate reaches 96. Uranium and lead ore here
are Mekanism's. Create Nuclear's separate ore/mixed-stone generation is disabled;
Create limestone and calcite appear through this dimension's rock deposits.
Everginium has its own rarity filter: Y −48 to 96, one attempt per six chunks,
vein size eight.
Additional industrial deposits
Each deposit attempts three adjacent size-64 sub-veins. Overlap means this does not guarantee 192 ore blocks.
| Resource | Y range | Frequency per ore type |
|---|---|---|
| Iron | 72 to 152 | 1 attempt per 96 Chunks |
| Copper | 72 to 152 | 1 attempt per 96 Chunks |
| Zinc | 72 to 152 | 1 attempt per 96 Chunks |
| Osmium | 72 to 152 | 1 attempt per 96 Chunks |

Terracotta includes uncoloured minecraft:terracotta and all sixteen colour
variants: white, orange, magenta, light blue, yellow, lime, pink, gray, light gray,
cyan, purple, blue, brown, green, red and black, using the corresponding
minecraft:<colour>_terracotta ID with underscores in multiword colours.
Geodes
| Geode | Origin Y | Frequency | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amethyst | −58–30 | 1 per 24 chunks | Amethyst blocks, budding amethyst, buds/clusters; calcite and smooth-basalt shell |
| Honey | −40–48 | 1 per 32 | Honey and Honeycomb Blocks, Coarse Dirt shell |

| Certus Quartz | −32–120 | 1 per 128 | Quartz blocks, occasional Flawless Budding Quartz, buds/clusters; calcite and smooth-basalt shell |
Certus inner-wall blocks each have a 2% Flawless Budding chance; a geode
need not contain one. Amethyst uses vanilla block/bud/cluster IDs. Certus uses
ae2:quartz_block, ae2:flawless_budding_quartz, ae2:small_quartz_bud,
ae2:medium_quartz_bud, ae2:large_quartz_bud and ae2:quartz_cluster.
Candy uses alexscaves:<colour>_rock_candy; honey uses vanilla Honey Block,
Honeycomb Block and Coarse Dirt.
Chambers and crystals
| Chamber | Origin Y | Frequency | Contents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dripstone | −32–240 | 1 per 96 chunks | Dripstone Block and Pointed Dripstone |
| Redstone crystal | −32–120 | 1 per 128 | Regions Unexplored Raw Redstone Block and Pointed Redstone |
| Prismarite | −32–224 | 1 per 128 | Prismarite clusters on floor, hanging prismarite on ceiling; calcite lining |
| Corundum | 0–192 | 1 per 192 | Equally distributed white/orange/yellow/green/blue/indigo/violet/red/black Quark corundum and clusters |
| Glowstone | −32–48 | 1 per 64 | Ceiling Glowstone, Netherrack lining |
| Crimson | −32–48 | 1 per 64 | Crimson Nylium, fungi/roots, Nether Wart Blocks, Weeping Vines, Shroomlights |
| Warped | −32–48 | 1 per 64 | Warped Nylium, fungi/roots, Nether Sprouts, Twisting Vines, Warped Wart Blocks, Shroomlights |
| End | 72–152 | 1 per 96 | End Stone, Purpur Blocks, Chorus Flowers and End Rods |
Original crystal chambers have calcite/smooth-basalt shells; ecosystem chambers use matching Nether/End materials. Short trails of lining material can lead to Certus geodes and crystal chambers: quartz, dripstone, raw redstone, calcite, white corundum or Netherrack. Trails extend towards smaller X/Z from the chamber; follow connected trails towards larger X/Z. Other deposits may interrupt them.
Veinrock and drill tunnels
Hidden kubejs:veinrock_growth origins are attempted at Y −32–240, one per
nine chunks. Air contact activates random-tick spreading. Each step replaces
an exposed Stone/Deepslate block within three blocks and another within eight.
Ten textures fade from bright turquoise towards gray as remaining range falls.
Branching growth can cover tunnel surfaces and reaches at most 80 blocks
along a growth path. It does not search through closed rock. Large drills
can expose several origins along tunnel walls.
Growing and finished Veinrock can be drilled normally. Finished kubejs:veinrock
has a fixed teal-gray vein, counts as ordinary cobblestone and smelts into Stone.
Fossils
| Fossil | Chosen origin Y | Frequency | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coal | 48–180 | 1 per 128 chunks | Bone Blocks and Coal Ore |
| Diamond | −24–8 | 1 per 192 | Bone Blocks and Deepslate Diamond Ore |
Vanilla placement moves fossils 15–24 blocks below their chosen origin, clamped at Y −54. Approximate base ranges are therefore 24–165 for coal and −48 to −7 for diamond; shapes extend above their base. They are not guaranteed complete, continuous skeletons.
Encounters and boundaries
Small YUNG's Better Dungeons rooms replace vanilla monster rooms; large dungeons and mineshafts are not included by that pool. Rare MES End Scraps appear at Y 72–152. Bats are the only directly registered ambient creature; the ordinary monster pool is empty. Glow Lichen can grow on exposed stone.
One sealed Forsaken chamber per world starts internally at Y 200, located
1,800–2,000 blocks horizontally from the saved mining-portal anchor. Reloads
do not move it. The Forsaken is already inside, needs no switch and does not
normally respawn after death. While alive it applies Mining Fatigue II inside;
outer walls, ceiling and Create drills are unaffected. Admin commands:
/miningboss anchor sets an anchor, /miningboss reports a teleport link and
/miningboss reset fills/recreates the chamber once at a new location in range.
These are administrative world-changing operations, not ordinary player steps.
Bedrock bounds the dimension at Y −64 to −60 and 315–319. It is not a normal resource. An air layer occupies 299–314, with other cavities inside features.
